Our Story

Our story is one of passion and expertise in the industry. Duende was founded four years ago by two sisters, the business since has be taken over by Shawna a year ago. The name Duende came with a deep meaning of "a heightened sense of passion" which is what Shawna looks for when adding to her collective team and a "deep mysterious way to move someone through art" which is fitting for the location as the harbour front is art based. The team at Duende thrives off convience and building community.  

 

 

THE OWNER

Shawna's career started back in 2010 when she graduated from Fiorio Academy then graduated from Canadian Beauty College with honours a year later in Makeup Artistry. She has a wealth of experience from having taught "Cosmetology" at two different high schools in Innisfil and Barrie to working on Editorial and Runway work. Shawna not only learned to master her craft from Fiorio but worked for Aveda for countless of years, including volunteering at their Sydney, Australia location. Shawna is a life learner and is committed to continuous learning through ongoing courses.
